EVENTS: 2009

The Ikeda Center held two events during the fall exploring aspects of the 2009 theme, "Humanizing Our Lives, Humanizing Our World." We had a diverse group of exciting thinkers on hand to participate in our investigation.

The events:

  • Read a feature story on this event! A Book Talk was held on September 24 with scholars Ronald A. Bosco and Joel Myerson, co-authors, with Daisaku Ikeda, of our new book, Creating Waldens: An East-West Conversation on the American Renaissance (Dialogue Path Press, September 2009). DETAILS >>
  • Read a feature story on this event! The 6th Annual Ikeda Forum was held on November 14. Called John Dewey, Daisaku Ikeda, and the Quest for a New Humanism, the event featured a dynamic mix of scholars, including Steven Rockefeller, Jim Garrison, Charlene Haddock-Seigfried, David Hansen, Larry Hickman, and Nel Noddings.
