In September 2011, professors Nur Yalman and Winston Langley came to the Center for a seminar exploring themes from Daisaku Ikeda's 1991 Harvard lecture, "The Age of Soft Power." In attendance were fourteen Boston-area university students. Professor Yalman is professor of Social Anthropology and Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard. Winston Langley is Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. The discussion was moderated by the Center's Senior Research Fellow, Virginia Benson.
