In early August, the editors of Hope and Joy in Education, Isabel Nuñez and Jason Goulah, appeared on the popular Ethical Schools podcast. In an episode called "The Power of Happiness: A Buddhist Approach to Secular Education," hosts Amy Halpern-Laff and Jon Moscow spoke with Nunez and Goulah about Daisaku Ikeda's educational philosophy as well as themes from Hope and Joy. Topics included: the individual student as the starting point for educational endeavors; deep happiness as our goal in teaching and learning and living; global citizenship education and the attributes of wisdom, courage, and compassion; and the challenges of celebrating hope and joy in education over the last 18 months.
