Preandra Lika Noel

Program and Office Coordinator

As Program and Office Coordinator, Preandra’s responsibilities include coordinating logistics of and promotion for Center events, working closely with the Ikeda Center Youth Committee (ICYC) and supporting administratively as well. Preandra also facilitates the Center’s youth program series, Dialogue Nights. Prior to joining the Ikeda Center in 2018, she attended Soka University of America (SUA)—a small, private liberal arts school in California—where she was empowered to realize her own individual happiness through practicing global citizenship. Inspired by her experiences with loss and 13th century religious reformer Nichiren Daishonin’s quest to “learn about death, and then about other things,” she completed her Masters of Science in Thanatology in 2023. Preandra loves reading books, watching anime, and being creative.

Preandra finds inspiration and daily encouragement in the following quotes from Daisaku Ikeda’s The Light of Learning, pp 130-131:

Life’s inherent creativity, its dynamic vitality, is brought to the surface only through the strenuous exertions of a life of consistent action.

Such a way of life will meet with storms and heavy rains, times of seeming defeat. But the creative essence of life is never crushed or vanquished by such things. It is sustained by knowledge of the brilliant rainbow whose bright arch will eventually stretch across the inner expanse of your being…

To be human is not merely to stand erect and manifest reason and intellect: to be human in the full sense of the word is to lead a creative life.
